Alternative Learning Program (ALP)

Thank you for your interest in the Alternative Learning Program (ALP) at Christ Classical Academy. Led by Director Mindy Greer, who brings over 20 years of experience in diverse educational settings, ALP is dedicated to helping students thrive by addressing both academic skills and underlying processing challenges. Our integrative approach combines left- and right-brain integration, primitive reflex integration, and specialized activities like music and microphone-based exercises, all designed to foster individual growth and academic success.

One key aspect of ALP is *The Listening Program* (TLP), an innovative method that enhances brain performance in areas like executive function, communication, and creativity. Using specially modified music tailored to each student’s needs, TLP strengthens the auditory system. Additionally, our "listen and repeat" lessons, using headphones with microphones, help students improve their pronunciation, intonation, and understanding of language.

We also address primitive reflexes that can impact learning. Retained reflexes may hinder tasks like recognizing sight words, so we assess each child and provide targeted exercises to support reflex integration. Every student begins with three assessments: the Receptive Expressive Observation (REO) to evaluate auditory, visual, and motor skills, and Moyer’s Decoding to examine word recognition and reflexes. These tools guide our individualized support for each learner.

We look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s learning journey and unlock their full potential.
